~ Foreshadowing is when the author gives you a clue of what is going to happen next in the story. The author used foreshadowing a lot in the story for example in the beginning it says “ It looked like a good thing: but wait till I tell you,” and another example is “Bill and me figured that Ebenezer would melt down for a ransom or two thousand dollars to a cent, but wait till I tell you.”
We know it was dramatic irony when the kidnappers sent the note to the dad for the money.
